After gaining an MA and becoming a head teacher, Diane left education to live abroad and develop her painting.
Landscape underlies and informs her paintings, but her work does not aim to describe a particular location. From an initial stimulus she works intuitively responding to the developing painting.
Currently she works predominately in oils, exploring an aerial viewpoint and placing importance on form and colour, often layering them to provide surface interest.
Diane successfully exhibited her work abroad. Her paintings have been accepted by the Society of Women Artists at the Mall Galleries, London. She is secretary of the Buckinghamshire Art Society
